Winter weather
Some parts of B.C. will be hit with wind chills of - 40 C.

More chilly and challenging weather conditions are on the way for British Columbia's inner south coast, including Greater Victoria and the Lower Mainland.

Environment Canada has issued snowfall warnings for Victoria and eastern parts of the Island, with accumulations of up to 10 centimetres expected through the day.

A dusting of snow is also forecast for Metro Vancouver while the weather office is calling for five to 10 centimetres from Courtenay to Campbell River and along the Sunshine Coast.

Powerful winds of up to 90 kilometres per hour are expected and a blast of cold arctic air could push wind chill values in the Fraser Valley near -20 C through Saturday.

Warnings of extreme cold and arctic outflow winds also cover the entire central portion of B.C.

Wind chills of -40 C are predicted in many areas and Environment Canada says conditions are not expected to ease until Saturday.
