Two consultation meetings are being held in Burnaby this week asking people for ideas to improve the interior design of SkyTrain cars.

TransLink is adding more than 200 Expo and Millennium SkyTrain cars to the fleet – making up about half of the fleet.

“In response to requests from customers, we’re considering improvements to our vehicle interiors,” read a posting on the TransLink website.

Some of the potential layout improvements include perimeter (sideways) seating. Another is flex areas for people with strollers, bikes and luggage. The list also includes bike racks in flex areas and leaning rails for people who can’t sit or stand easily.

If you have ideas, the first session in Burnaby is Wednesday, Jan. 16, from 2:30-6:30 p.m. at Lougheed Town Centre station. The second is on Saturday, Jan. 19, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Metrotown station.
