People whacked some balls around to raise money for Burnaby Hospital.

And boy, did they ever raise a lot of money.

The Canadian Alliance of Chinese Communities – CACA – held a tournament at Riverway Golf Course on Wednesday. Supported by City of Burnaby, this event raised $41,000 according to city Coun. James Wang, an advisor to CACA.

Kristy James, CEO of Burnaby Hospital Foundation, received the donation from CACA’s Yongtao Chen. Some directors of BHF and members of Chinese Ambassador Society of BHF attended the event. MP Peter Julian and MLA Raj Chouhan joined with the charity dinner following the tournament and presented appreciation certificates to CACA for their contributions to the communities and BHF.

Mayor Mike Hurley attended the opening ceremony in the early afternoon.
