Burnaby RCMP released a virtual collage of images this week showing suspects allegedly linked to a variety of local crimes since the summer.

A video, taken by a passerby at about 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 4, shows a man sitting in the passenger seat of a van that had just had its windshield smashed in the 5800 block of Olive Avenue, according to police.

The man appears to utter an expletive before exiting the van when he notices the passerby with the camera approach.

“Police would like to speak with this man to find out why he was in the van,” stated a police news release.

Burnaby RCMP also released photos of three different suspects who allegedly stole packages from Burnaby residences in June and July as well as one photo of two men linked to a mischief call in June.

Find information for each incident attached to the photos above.

“We need the public's help to progress these investigations, so if you recognize any of the individuals in the pictures and video above, please contact police,” Burnaby RCMP Cpl. Mike Kalanj said. “When it comes to mail theft we ask that you take a look at the advice we have outlined below to help deter thieves.”

  • Retrieve your mail as soon as possible after delivery. Do not leave mail in your mailbox overnight.
  • If you’re going to be away, use the Hold Mail service from Canada Post to suspend delivery until you return, or have someone collect your mail for you if they can do so daily.
  • Check the physical security of your mailbox to ensure there are no gaps or damages.
  • If you’re shopping online, check to see how the business delivers the package. Avoid those using carrier companies that would leave packages at your front door if you know you won’t be home.
  • Report all suspicious activities around mailboxes to police and Canada Post.
