Police have released video of a suspect vehicle in a pedestrian-involved hit-and-run at a Cariboo Road crosswalk Saturday.

Burnaby RCMP has obtained dashcam video that shows the suspect vehicle in Saturday's serious pedestrian-involved hit-and-run on Cariboo Road.

Police responded to reports of a pedestrian hit at the crosswalk at the bottom of Cariboo Hill at about 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 21.

The victim, identified later as Amancio Hernandez, was hit by a northbound vehicle, sustaining fractures to his face, ribs, pelvis, knee and hand.

The driver of the vehicle involved failed to stop at the scene, according to police.

Mounties are now looking for a black Dodge Charger with possible damage to the front passenger side.

Video released by RCMP Tuesday shows the suspect vehicle travelling north on Cariboo Road.

It continued north after the pedestrian was struck, according to police.

"Unfortunately, it is not yet possible to make out a vehicle licence plate, so Burnaby RCMP is releasing a portion of the video in the hope that someone will come forward with information to help identify the driver or the vehicle," stated an RCMP press release.

While it is not included in the released clip, the video obtained by police does show the collision at the crosswalk, according to RCMP.

Anyone with information about Saturday’s crash is asked to call Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999 and ask to speak with traffic services.
