Construction in Burnaby and Vancouver continues on the FortisBC gas line upgrades – this time there is some borderline good news.

Here’s the latest update on traffic impacts. Full details are available at talkingenergy.ca.

Gas line construction along Lougheed Highway is on track to finish next week, weather dependent. The highway will fully reopen for traffic between Holdom and Kensington Avenues once work is complete. “However, there will still be some ongoing intermittent lane closures for road reinstatement work,” said a FortisBC news release. “This marks the end of gas line construction along the Lougheed Highway for 2018, and we want to thank the community for its patience as we completed this work.”

The intersection of Halifax Street and Douglas Road in Burnaby is also anticipated to open for east-west traffic next week, weather dependent.

Douglas Road is expected to remain closed north and south of the intersection — between Carleton and Madison Avenues — until mid-November.
