So you’ve been robbed, now what?

That’s one of the many questions Burnaby RCMP’s Strike Force Robbery Unit will answer at an upcoming robbery prevention presentation.

(Spoiler alert: One of the things they’re going to tell you is that no mere property is worth being killed or seriously injured over.)

Part of the ongoing Safe Community Series, the workshop will cover personal safety and robbery prevention tips, like how to avoid being robbed on the street or during a Craigslist or Kijiji transaction.

“Personal safety is everyone's responsibility and this is a great opportunity to learn more about protecting yourself, being aware of your surroundings, and how to avoid being a victim of opportunity,” Cpl. Daniela Panesar stated in a press release.

The presentation takes place Thursday, Sept. 12 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Tommy Douglas branch of Burnaby Public Library (7311 Kingsway).

The event is free, but registration is suggested.
