Update: Bonsor pool is no longer broken

*Update: The City of Burnaby tweeted out this morning that Bonsor pool has now been re-opened after being closed since Monday, Dec. 17 due to "mechanical issues."

"Thank you for patience," read the tweet. The pool will run on the fall schedule until Dec. 23 and then switch to the holiday schedule from Dec. 24 to Jan. 6.

One of Burnaby’s most-used recreation sites is broken.

The City of Burnaby tweeted out today that Bonsor pool is closed until further notice.

The reason given is “mechanical issues.”

“We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding,” read the tweet.

Swimmers are advised to travel to Edmonds, CG Brown and Eileen Dailly pools until Bonsor is up and running again.

The city gave no indication on how long it will take to fix the pool.
