The Vancouver Police Department has released a video of an assault at Pierre’s Champagne Lounge in Vancouver on March 31, 2018 that left a 28-year-old Burnaby man with life-changing injuries. Police are looking for the public's help identifying two suspects highlighted in the video.

Police are looking for help identifying two people captured on video during a Vancouver assault that left a Burnaby man with “life-changing injuries” last March.

Vancouver police were called to Pierre’s Champagne Lounge at 1028 Hamilton Street at about 2 a.m. on March 31, 2018 for reports a fight had just taken place and a man had been knocked unconscious.

When officers arrived they found one person with minor injuries and a 28-year-old Burnaby man, who was taken to hospital with serious head injuries.

The suspects had fled before police arrived.

Nearly a year after the incident, Vancouver police released a video of the incident Tuesday (March 19).

“This is a serious, disturbing assault,” Sgt. Jason Robillard said in a press release. “The victim continues to deal with the effects of his life-changing injuries.”

Robillard said investigators have been working behind the scenes, but the public’s help was now needed to identify the suspects highlighted in the video.

At a press conference, Robillard said police believe the altercation started inside the lounge moments before the assault outside was captured on video.

Police believe the two suspects are associated with each other and the two victims were friends.

Anyone with information about the men in the video or about the incident is asked to contact detectives at 604-717-2541 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
