She spread out some seeds for sunflowers – and then they took off.
The sunflowers grew so tall, they are now higher than her Burnaby home.
“I planted them as they were the favourite flower of my late friend who died last August,” Leone said in an email. “My friends and neighbours are all astonished at how tall they have actually grown and they are still growing.”
