The Burnaby NOW has a new addition to our awesome editorial team.
Please welcome Janaya Fuller Evans to the NOW. If you think you recognize that name, you are correct as Janaya worked for the NOW and our sister paper the New Westminster Record for five years until 2015. Before that, she worked as a reporter for Glacier Media’s Vancouver Courier.
Janaya will be covering Burnaby’s busy business community, with features on local companies and business trends. Her work was previously recognized with a Ma Murray arts and culture writing award.
“I’m really excited to have Janaya join our team,” said NOW editor Chris Campbell. “She is a tremendous journalist who possesses a deep curiosity about issues that impact our communities.”
When not writing, Janaya is also an active volunteer, with previous volunteer work ranging from a community garden to helping Megaphone magazine with their coverage of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside community.
