It would appear that before Mayor Corrigan posts a video on Youtube claiming that B.C. is turning into a "Banana Republic" he should take the time to get his facts straight.
In a well-worded response in the Georgia Straight by Port Metro Vancouver (Port Authority responds to Burnaby mayor, January 30th), not only were his comments inflammatory, they were in fact totally incorrect.
Using the position of mayor to lambast another respected organization for political posturing, and embarrassing yourself at the same time, is not the type of behaviour the citizens of Burnaby have come to expect of its civic politicians.
If this is the type of leadership currently piloting the ship in Burnaby, perhaps we need a new captain at the helm.
