Jagmeet Singh returns to Burnaby for outdoor movie tonight

Burnaby South MP and federal NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh has returned home. Well, home as in the place he moved into last year in order to gain a seat in the House of Commons. But, home is wherever you lay your hat and Singh picked our fine community.

Burnaby South MP and federal NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh has returned home.

Well, home as in the place he moved into last year in order to gain a seat in the House of Commons. But, home is wherever you lay your hat and Singh picked our fine community.

Now Singh is back after a really busy few months of announcing major health-care and housing policies, and launching his much-praised memoir, Love & Courage: My Story of Family, Resilience, and Overcoming the Unexpected, which hit shelves in April.

This all should have been a time of resurgence for Singh and the NDP, but the party is still mired in third place, according to the CBC poll tracker, or fourth place behind the Green Party of Canada if you believe the last Ekos Research poll. Either way, the party has put out some bold policies, but they haven’t given the party any sort of boost.

Amidst all of this, Singh is meeting with Burnaby folks tonight at the Outdoor Movie Night at the Park with popular Burnaby NDP MLA Anne Kang at 7:15 p.m. in Wesburn Park, 4781 Parkwood Ave.
They will be watching Spider-Man, Into the Spider-Verse.
