Just look at this mess on Lougheed in Burnaby. Don't make the mistake I made

I forgot all about the FortisBC that started up again at the intersection of Lougheed Highway and Springer Avenue on Tuesday, Aug. 6. And I paid the price for it.

I forgot all about the FortisBC that started up again at the intersection of Lougheed Highway and Springer Avenue on Tuesday, Aug. 6.

And I paid the price for it.

Despite writing about it recently, I was caught in a looooooong lineup during rush hour and was stuck.

So be warned. Don't make the mistake I made.

One eastbound and one westbound lane are open on Lougheed Highway; however, Springer Avenue will be closed to north-south traffic between Lougheed Highway and Broadway. This work is to connect the new gas line to the existing system, and is expected to be completed by mid-September.

As for the ongoing work at the Lougheed Highway and Bainbridge Avenue intersection, FortisBC says it was open as of last Wednesday, Aug. 7. But as work in the area moves north, Bainbridge Avenue will now be closed between Queensbridge Drive and Broadway. Traffic on Broadway will be unaffected. Businesses in the area are open, with Bainbridge Avenue accessible via the Lougheed Highway intersection. This work is expected to be completed by late August.
