Opinion: Burnaby driver with a death wish caught with blocked windows

A few weeks ago, I wrote about how it’s illegal and, frankly, insane to drive around Burnaby with some of your vehicle’s windows blocked by snow. Today, it was clear not everyone gets the message about this dangerous behaviour.

A few weeks ago, I wrote about how it’s illegal and, frankly, insane to drive around Burnaby with some of your vehicle’s windows blocked by snow.

Today, it was clear not everyone gets the message about this dangerous behaviour.

Burnaby RCMP posted a photo of a driver with some of their windows blocked by snow. People, you can't drive safely if you can't see out of all your windows, especially for shoulder checks.

“Come on drivers,” tweeted Burnaby RCMP. “We just Tweeted a video showing how important it is to clear all snow off your vehicle! Anyways – please don’t be like this driver who was just stopped by one of our officers and provided a brush and some assistance in removing the snow from their vehicle.”

Check out this tweet that includes a pretty funny video of how to clean snow from your vehicle.

You can’t just clear off a portion of your vehicle, like half of the windshield and your driver’s side window.

Burnaby RCMP and other policing agencies say it’s actually an offence to not have all of your windows cleared of snow. That also includes your headlights and brake lights.
