Opinion: Enjoy this gallery of driving doofuses getting towed in Burnaby

The Burnaby RCMP traffic enforcement unit has recently set up some speed traps on Marine Way, just east of Boundary road, where the speed limit drops from 70 km/h to 50 km/h.

They suspected that drivers were not respecting the speed limit.

And Burnaby towing companies are making out like bandits with all of the driving doofuses who are getting nailed for driving like maniacs.

On Saturday, Burnaby RCMP said in a tweet that drivers continue to treat this area as “if it were the Trans Canada Highway.”

“One of our traffic enforcement officers today stopped three vehicles in a row on @CityofBurnabystreets doing over 100 km/hr in the 50 km/hr zone - with the last driver also being distracted,” read a tweet.

That’s twice the posted speed limit for those scoring at home.

Recently, drivers were nailed in this area doing 98, 102 and 136 km/h. That means a $368 ticket and losing your vehicle for seven days for the first two drivers. For the maniac clocked at 136 km/h, that means a $483 ticket and losing their vehicle for a week. Doing 136 is excessive even for a highway.

This comes on the heels of another jerk caught doing 105 km/h in a 50 km/h zone on Friday in Burnaby.

Click on the photo above and scroll through the photos of these speed demons getting towed away. For me, it’s cathartic. I love to see dangerous people getting punished.

It's my gift to you - enjoy!
