Someone in B.C. won a million smackeroos. Fist bumps all around

Someone in B.C. woke up pretty rich today. Not mega-rich, at least not if they live in mega-expensive Metro Vancouver, but pretty comfortable. There was no winning ticket for the $12 million jackpot in Saturday night's Lotto 649 draw.

Someone in B.C. woke up pretty rich today.

Not mega-rich, at least not if they live in mega-expensive Metro Vancouver, but pretty comfortable.

There was no winning ticket for the $12 million jackpot in Saturday night's Lotto 649 draw. However, the guaranteed $1 million prize went to a ticket holder in British Columbia.

The jackpot for the next Lotto 649 draw on July 3 will be approximately $16 million.

Now, with $16 million, you could actually buy a house in the city of Vancouver. A million, maybe, because prices have dropped, but for that price, you wouldn't have a cent left over - certainly not enough to make the kitchen "open concept." The housing crisis is still that bad.

No winning ticket was sold for the $10 million jackpot in Friday night's Lotto Max draw.

That means the jackpot for the next draw on July 2 will be approximately $15 million.
