This Burnaby shop is serving ice cream for breakfast. Yes, please!

Back in the 1980s, there was a short-lived ad campaign urging people to eat donuts for breakfast. I was one of the few supporters of this campaign.

Bacon and eggs is fine, but sometimes eating sweet stuff is just fine for the most important meal of the day.

That’s why I’m so excited that Burnaby’s Glenburn Soda Fountain, 4090 Hastings St., is hosting its annual event that is serving up ice cream for breakfast on Feb. 1 from 9 a.m. to noon.

“Do you secretly wish that you could eat ice cream every meal of the day?” asks a post on Glenburn’s website. “It’s really just milk and sugar anyway – add a cone and it’s basically cereal.
That actually makes perfect sense. I’m digging this logic.

There’s going to be waffle sundaes, a cereal toppings bar and donut ice cream sandwiches so get ready for a delightful sugar rush.

Oh, and if you wear real pajamas to the event, you’ll have a chance to win ice cream for a year.
