Dear Editor:
Well, the inevitable happened at the intersection of Beta and Brentwood Drive, a cyclist got hit and lost his life.
This was an accident waiting to happen.
I definitively hope that I am wrong when I say that this, I believe, won't be the last. Next will be a pedestrian.
That particular intersection is one of the most dangerous crossing intersections I know.
With the condos on the east side of Brentwood Town Centre, that intersection has become an extremely busy one at all times of the day.
The need for a pedestrian overpass is a crucial one, especially in the future with the projected increase of population and traffic as a results of the Brentwood redevelopments.
I believe the changes are necessary, but we must urge our politicians to address and make sure that all safety issues measure up to the changes and will not be pushed to the back burners.
