I'd like to clarify the transportation committee's recommendations regarding High occupancy vehicle lanes along Hastings Street.
As a citizen representative on that committee, my recollection is that there was support on the committee for extending parking restrictions on the HOV lanes along Hastings to match those of the City of Vancouver, and to consider having those HOV lanes used as multi-purpose lanes so that cars could also use them during the a.m. and p.m. rush hours.
Opposition to increasing HOV lane hours was not from North Burnaby residents.
