Don't let Burnaby tax the tap just yet

Dear Editor Beware of water meters being pushed on the public in Burnaby.

Dear Editor

Beware of water meters being pushed on the public in Burnaby. You don’t think that politicians would start using it as a cash cow first? Granted it is a hot, hot summer but people (NDP) need to think before they start shooting from the hip. It’s like, “Golly, it’s a hot summer, so let’s start piling on even more taxes onto homeowners.”

If Burnaby decided to finally bite the bullet and stop watering lawns for good in the summer, that would be fine with me, because it seems to me that lawn watering has to be a total waste of water.

Never let governments do your thinking for you, because sooner of later they will start hiring more very expensive paper-pushers to run it.

I can see a possible need if our summers start to turn out like this years. We live in a rainforest, and we have, what is it, four or five large reservoirs just for the GVRD? That’s not counting Harrison Lake, which is on the provincial books as a future reservoir.
