Dear Editor:
We would like to thank the SPCA for 16 wonderful years with Rusty. It's about 16 years, because he was a stray, with no identification, when we found him at the SPCA on Norland, but the vet said he was about a year to 18 months, so we called that day his first birthday.
Every owner knows how special these relationships are and how hard it is to say goodbye.
We will miss exploring Burnaby's parks with Rusty, being followed around the house, his loyalty, his grins, his wagging tail. He grew up with and was a pal to our kids.
He was completely spoiled, but he was a good boy. Without the SPCA those many happy years would not have been possible.
So if you are considering a pet, think about adopting from the SPCA.
There are many more, like Rusty, who would love to become a part of your family.
Goodbye, bud, we'll miss you.
Kathy and Derek Corrigan, Burnaby
