Dear Editor:
I do not understand why the powers that be feel Burnaby has to play second fiddle to Vancouver.
We have known for many years that Burnaby Hospital needs replacing.
St. Paul's Hospital started years ago selling lottery tickets in order to carry out its desperately needed improvements, why haven't the directors at Burnaby Hospital done the same?
They must all be afraid they may not be around to see the finished product in order to wallow in the praise. Pity!
Rather than having builders donate and build more skateboard parks for hoods, which most people do not use anyway, have the builders donate a condominium suite or two so there is something to raffle off.
Produce a Christmas CD, featuring traditional Christmas carols, sung by the students of our local schools. Those kids whose parents don't like the idea of their kids singing Christmas carols do not have to have their kids partake. What could be more simple?
We need to all pull together and get this facility built, and to heck with the control freaks who are currently in charge, as they don't know what they want!
