I am not in the habit of writing letters to the media, but felt that what my wife and I experienced at the Metrotown White Spot last week warranted a few lines to express our thanks to an unknown couple.
Now in our 80s, we enjoy our own company going to lunch once a week to one of the restaurants in the area.
This is made somewhat more difficult as my wife, Jeanne, is (disbled) and uses a walker for short distances. With the present “spacing,” we managed to find a table and thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
Other folks finished their meal and left, including a young couple nearby. Replete and fully satisfied, I asked for the bill. The waitress then informed me that the young couple had already paid our bill in full.
We have no idea who they were or why they chose to do so. Having lived and worked here for over 60 years, Jeanne wondered whether one of them might have worked for me at BC Hydro.
I certainly didn’t think so as we’ve been retired many years. Whoever they were, we want to say a big thank you. And would certainly like to meet them and say it personally.
