The Editor:
The ongoing culling of wolves in B.C. is really appalling.
I'm a former tree planter in B.C. and have seen wildlife up close and realized how valuable wolves are alive in the ecosystem.
I've travelled across North America and Europe and wolves are not as common; Canada is extremely lucky to have wolves.
In B.C. the government kills hundreds of wolves per year and this has being going on for years — even presently — and this is really depressing.
Wolves are shot from helicopters and the animal suffers, sometimes over a period of time.
Wolves are incredibly cunning, beautiful and intelligent creatures with a well-organized family unit.
I personally felt really angry and saddened by the government’s actions to continue killing wolves in the province, and I feel it’s a pointless endeavour.
The province should stop killing wolves since it’s unethical, and does nothing to protect caribou in the province.
