Letter: Burnaby should extend Eileen Dailly pool hours

One extra hour in the evenings could make a big difference.

Extending swimming hours at the Eileen Dailly pool could help create more opportunities for Burnaby swimmers, this letter writer suggests.

Editor:

A very easy way to create more opportunities for swimmers would be to increase the hours of our existing facilities.

A group of swimmers created a petition to have Eileen Dailly stay open until 11 p.m. (instead of the current closure at 10 p.m. weekdays and 9 p.m. on weekends). The facility is very well used in the evening (and very crowded since the closure of C.G. Brown), so this seems to make a lot of sense.

If the lane times for adults were extended, it could also free up time earlier in the evening for more programming.
