Letter: Burnaby sidewalks are not your personal garbage can

I am a neat and tidy person. I love my planet, but I get really sad when I see litter, cigarette butts, old shoes, dog droppings, big fat noogies, car parts and any item strewn on the grass or sidewalks.

I was appalled when I watched a team of trekkers in Tibet climb Mt. Everest to bring back 100 pounds of garbage that tourists had carelessly left behind. Looking after our planet begins with taking care of ourselves, our homes and our world.

If everyone recycled and used garbage cans it would make the world a beautiful place. It could be the beginning of change. Oh, and please, the oceans aren't a garbage can either.
