Letter: Burnaby spending $9.8M on coloured lights for SkyTrain would be 'frivolous'

Re: Burnaby eyes spending $9.8M on ‘accent lighting’ along SkyTrain line, NOW news

Please tell me that Burnaby city council has rejected a proposal to spend $9.8 million on the totally frivolous objective of putting coloured lighting on sections of the SkyTrain guideway.

SkyTrain does an incredible job of moving millions of people a year, but it may be the biggest source of noise pollution in the Lower Mainland. Perhaps with part of that $9.8M, the city could help fund a solution to this problem. Millions of daily SkyTrain riders would thank you.

And are there other good uses for that money? I'll bet your readers think so.
