Just pay already!
There are a lot of serious problems going on right now but this one is becoming more and more of a nuisance.
I’m talking about people who when it comes time to pay are determined to pay using their phone.
And it takes forever.
Yesterday, at Save-On Foods Highgate, myself and others had to wait almost 10 minutes for two fools trying to pay with their phones. They each tried and failed repeatedly, then they both just stared and stared at their phones for seemingly endless minutes without even moving, just standing there staring as long as sheep or cows.
One guy was apparently opposed to lifting grocery bags on religious grounds, leaving his buddy to place their dozen bags of groceries into the cart, with sloth-like speed as he was talking loud BS with a fellow dude on his phone.
These two loud-talking slow-moving clowns were completely oblivious to the line of people waiting behind them with grumbling impatience.
Finally, they miraculously paid the bill using one of their phones, and they were on their way, but moving at a pace so slow that they could’ve been overtaken by a Pope’s funeral procession.
People, when you see that paying by phone isn’t working, please don’t waste other people’s time, put away the phone and just pay already.
