Letter: Crack down on pollution from disposable masks

Is it time for a deposit on disposable masks?

Waste: Would putting a deposit on disposable masks help crack down on pollution? That's one suggestion from this writer.

Editor:

I hope the government gets rid of the number one plastic polluter in the province, and possibly the world: the plastic masks some people wear even when alone in the car. You see them at bus stops; SkyTrain stations; in front of stores; in rivers, oceans, lakes — they are now bigger than cigarette butts.

Maybe a buck deposit on them — I know the fish would appreciate that. The say the South China Sea is filled with them.
