Letter: Don't squander City of Burnaby's healthy surpluses

Spending money is easy. Developing a healthy contingency fund is hard. Having (and retaining) a healthy balance sheet is critical for future financial health.

I believe that past Burnaby governments have done an incredible job providing budget surpluses.

Let’s not squander the excellent job that has been done in the past, just because we have a new group in office — please!
