Letter: I'm 'outraged' at the trees cut down on Burnaby highway

What about the birds and small animals?

Burnaby needs to do everything it can to preserve trees, this writer says.

Editor:

I’m so outraged at all the trees cut down along the highway, especially when we are having a climate crisis and need to increase our green space! Who in their right mind thought this was a good idea?

If perhaps a few trees impeded traffic signs, they could have been dealt with. Not a whole forest!

What about all the birds that fly nightly from Still Creek? This was a safe landing spot for them in our concrete jungle. Not to mention all the other small animals that probably called that home. I am sickened every time I drive down that section of the highway. It’s like driving through a cemetery.
