Re: Letter: It's nearly impossible to find a family doctor. A phone call isn't enough

I echo the contents in this letter. To give a brief background, we landed in Canada exactly a year back on this day.

Two months later, I tried enrolling in the Burnaby patient attachment initiative and tried contacting almost all the hospitals in Burnaby and nearby areas.

I have not been able to get my family a family doctor so far. I get an automated response from divisionsbc that due to doctor's shortage they are unable to place us.

I enrolled five times in the attachment list, the last one being in august 2021 and each time it looks like it pushed me further in the list and we are being asked to visit a walk-in clinic or go the emergency room, without giving a time limit on when approximately we will be matched with a doctor.

With kids in the family, it has been a year that we are mostly on self-medication with no access to doctors. It is absolutely a nightmare and we are waiting with the hope we would be matched with a doctor soon.
