Distracted driving
Cell phone addiction is behind some driver’s inability to stay away from the device while behind the wheel.

Sometimes, I am the second car in the left-turn lane. The left-turn signal starts and I can see in their driver’s door rear view mirrors that they are looking at their phone.

So I give a toot on my horn. I can see them look up at the green light and, astonishingly, they look back at their phones and don’t start driving. This repeats until they see the advanced green is ending, then they drive through, leaving me to wait for the next light. This happens a lot.

The worst of the worst look at me in their rear view mirrors with a facial expression that is saying “I am on the phone! Do you mind?!?”

Where’s a cop when you need one?
