Letter: This Burnaby road project is a traffic gong show and nobody will fix it

Should the Trans Mountain project be allowed to shut down parts of a major road for this long?

An entire lane on Gaglardi Way has been closed due to the Trans Mountain project.

Editor:

I’m not necessarily against the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion project, but I am against how arrogant this organization is.

They seem to think they can do whatever they want no matter how much is screws up our lives.

Take the fact that an entire lane of Gaglardi Way is now closed due to work on the pipeline just north of Lougheed Highway.

The lane has been closed for a while and the traffic backs up every single morning and adds a lot of time to our daily commute. This isn’t some side street. Gaglardi is a major road that is used by a lot of people, especially those in Port Moody and Coquitlam because for many this is the only close option to get to Highway 1.

But hey, it’s a pipeline in the “national interest” so let’s just let them do whatever the hell they want to. I can't even find any information about how long this part of Gaglardi Way will be shut down for. I tried parking and asking the crew and they just shrugged.

I for one am sick of it.
