Dear Editor:
I wish to congratulate Coun. Colleen Jordan for having the courage to step up and utter the words “photo radar.”
How many people have died on dangerous roads because Gordon Campbell played to the mob in 2001 and sold off all the photo radar equipment? Yes, they were intruding on peoples “right” to go fast (when they think no one was watching), boo hoo. But on the other hand, we have had carnage and death on Canada Way, Pattullo Bridge, Sea to Sky Highway, etc. It is a no-brainer that at least a few lives could have been saved in the last 16 years if it hadn’t been a cynical grandstand play by the provincial Liberals in 2001.
Where are the rest of the politicians on this matter? Election time is coming up and there would be no better moment to get on one side of this or another.
