LETTERS: Burnaby facing its own ‘refugee crisis’

Dear Editor War isn’t only way that homes are demolished, creating a refugee crisis. It can also be caused by greed. Let’s not get sidetracked by the “either-or” seesaw logic about density.

Dear Editor

War isn’t only way that homes are demolished, creating a refugee crisis.

It can also be caused by greed. Let’s not get sidetracked by the “either-or” seesaw logic about density.

The true wealth of our Metrotown community is the diversity of our residents. We need affordable units in every new development so not a single one of our lower-income citizens is forced out of sight, out of mind, out of town or out of a home.

If Metrotown is to be the heart of Burnaby, we can’t afford to lose our humanity – and the human beings we care about – along the way.
