LETTERS: Isn't the goal of #MeToo supposed to be justice?

Dear Editor: Concerning the letter about the 'Me Too' cartoon , most of us would agree that the goal is justice.

Dear Editor:

Concerning the letter about the 'Me Too' cartoon, most of us would agree that the goal is justice.

And perhaps agree that assaults, harassment, bullying and bad taste or ignorant behaviour, are collectively as well as individually on a spectrum.  The extreme ends of such a spectrum may be seen in the example of Bill Cosby at one end, and MP James Bazan at the other.

I applaud and support women who find the courage to come forward with all complaints in that spectrum, and who bring them to the appropriate body in a position to deal with prosecution, expulsion, censure, etc.

Social, print and other media are not the appropriate places to come forward with complaints.  Media cannot deal with them.  But what they can accomplish is smear – and judge – and socially punish with impunity.

I believe this cartoon came out immediately after Patrick Brown in Ontario was vilified, as it is turning out, deliberately when two persons took their allegations to the media.  As far as I know the complaints have even yet to be taken to the authorities.  And Patrick Brown is taking civil action against CTV News broadcaster over this matter.

It is well put in the letter writer's own words, " …the vast majority of complaints…"

What about the minority?
