Dear Editor:
Re: Willingdon Park plan rolls to completion.
I was disappointed to hear the City of Burnaby did not follow the recommendations of the Burnaby HUB committee regarding the design of the Willingdon Linear Park.
The volunteer committee does a lot of excellent work for the city. This is another example of Burnaby wasting tax payers’ money by building a poorly designed bike route. It will add to Burnaby’s legacy of being one of the worst cities to cycle.
Mayor Derek Corrigan’s comment regarding the 7-Eleven Trail having no problems is ridiculous. Maybe he has been living under a rock for the last decade, because the city has received hundreds of complaints regarding the poorly designed trail.
I think the real drama is the fact that Mayor Corrigan doesn’t ride his bike.
