Dear Editor:
Friends and customers, thank you for your patience and support as we work toward being fully operational again.
Many of you already know a large fire at our Burnaby warehouse destroyed nearly our whole fleet of five-ton trucks along with our van and several trailers on the night of Jan. 2. Watching the video surveillance of our vehicles burning one by one was heartbreaking but also brought us some peace since we know the fire started as an electrical fire and was not an act of vandalism or arson.
We can’t thank the Burnaby Fire Department enough for spending their night trying to save our business. We are all amazed that the fire was contained to the vehicles and the building was untouched. We know this is only because of the brave men and women from the Burnaby Fire Department and their fast and efficient response. Along with help of the Burnaby RCMP, the City of Burnaby and B.C. Hydro, we were able to go from a disaster to being open for business within 36 hours.
As things are settling down and the shock of the situation is wearing off, we want you all to know we appreciate your support in this situation and to let you know how much it has helped us through this tough time. Our first priority always has been and always will be meeting the needs of our customers, and appreciate all of your understanding and support as well – we know it affects all of you too!
From the family and staff at Pemberton Transport, thank you.
Heather Ray, Pemberton Transport
