Re: Parents ‘need not be afraid,’ Burnaby NOW, Feb. 10.
Thank you to the Burnaby school board for passing this policy and acknowledging that all students deserve an education.
Allowing these students to attend our schools sends a message of tolerance and inclusion that is more important than ever, given global events.
While all citizenship claims should be adjudicated fairly and expediently, it is welcoming to hear that children will not be excluded from their education while their families undergo the immigration process.
Thank you to our school board trustees for their compassion on this important issue.
