LETTERS: What happened to the music at Shoppers?

Dear Editor: I would very much like an explanation from Shoppers Drug Mart regarding the cancellation of the oldies music played over the intercom on Seniors Thursdays. I always enjoyed going into the Kensington Plaza Shoppers Drug Mart on Thursdays.

I always enjoyed going into the Kensington Plaza Shoppers Drug Mart on Thursdays. That was part of the fun of shopping there for me. Then one day, the format suddenly changed to the bland, highly forgettable current day music, which you can hear anywhere. When I complained, I was given a number to phone, which I did. But I was only told that the management has no control over the music.

I very much miss the classic oldies music, and I want it back again. I think Shoppers owes us an explanation. Was there a complaint from the younger generation against it? If so, it’s time for the baby boomers to speak up or forever hold their peace.
