Dear Editor
Pedestrians, please don’t be lulled into a false sense of security because you are wearing bright-coloured clothing or reflective gear. Drivers may see you but they may not want to wait for you to cross the street. They may not even want to wait two seconds for you to even cross to the middle of the road.
Many times, I have waited at Sixth and Sixth for the light to change so I can cross. I see a driver waiting to turn right. I make eye contact with him, but he still insists on making his turn as soon as the light turns green, narrowly missing my toes.
What’s a pedestrian to do?
