In response to “Modest Complaints” from Larry Bennett, dated May 19.
With regard to Mr. Bennett’s statement: “I have never seen so many illegal u-turns at controlled intersections in my life … nor drivers who think that a stop sign applies only to those whose mother-tongue is English.”
This kind of ignorance is not needed, nor welcome in our city or in this country. My father came to Canada in 1959, and he, along with millions of other immigrants to Canada, built this country. This statement is utterly offensive, and to all whose mother tongue is indeed not English, you owe an apology.
