Re: MP's poll reveals 47 per cent want gondola, Burnaby NOW, Nov. 4.

The article revealed that four out of five households phoned (on land lines) by the polling company hung up and did not participate.

The survey is biased too by leaving out the many residents who have cellphones.

Kennedy Stewart, the MP for BurnabyDouglas who commissioned the phone survey, remarked that he "kept the survey simple with one question."

The survey might have been more informative if it had offered participants other responses such as "reduce my taxes," "trolley buses to SFU" or "other transit improvements."

Both Stewart's (with its high margin of error) and TransLink's surveys show that the public are skeptical of this "great tourist attraction" project (according to Mayor Derek Corrigan).
