The NEB's application period to intervene in Kinder Morgan's pipeline hearing offically opened today. Check out the email below. Don't forget local MP Kennedy Stewart is hosting a public meeting on how to get involved. (Click here to read our story on that.) The deadline is Feb. 12. The NEB is also hosting online and teleconference training sessions for people interested in applying (which makes it sound rather complicated). See the second letter posted below for details on that.

SECOND LETTER:

Hello,

As I mentioned in my last email update, Trans Mountain Pipeline ULC filed an application (click here)  for its Expansion Project on 16 December 2013.  The NEB will determine if the application is complete and if so, it will hold a public hearing.
Those who wish to participate in the hearing must apply to participate. If you would like to submit an application to participate, you must clearly describe your interest in relation to the List of Issues (click here)  for the hearing, which is on our website and included in the application to participate. Those who are directly affected by the proposed project will be allowed to participate in the hearing and those with relevant information or expertise may be allowed to participate.

The application to participate process will open on 15 January and you can find the application form and guidance (click here)  on the NEB’s website here .

Applications to participate in the hearing are due on or before noon (PST) on 12 February 2014. Individuals and groups applying to participate must provide enough information for the NEB to decide whether participant status should be granted.

Starting on 16 January, we will be hosting numerous online and teleconference training sessions for those interested in learning more about the application process. For more information about how to register for upcoming training dates and times, please click here .

We have also recently released three videos (click here)  that provide an overview of the NEB, our hearing process and how to participate in a hearing, and our Participant Funding Program. I hope these are useful for you.
Trans Mountain ULC has until 19 February 2014 to provide the NEB with comments on the Application to Participate and must provide a copy of its comments to those to whom the comments apply. If you receive comments from Trans Mountain ULC about your Application to Participate, you have until 4 March 2014 to send the Board your response to Trans Mountain’s comments.

Best regards,
Reny
