Sure, sure, some may say summer is half over.
We’d rather look at the beautiful month of August ahead of us and realize how much time we still have left to enjoy everything the season of sunshine has to offer.
And if you’re sitting out there wondering just how you’re going to fill those remaining days of the season, then we’d like to offer up this suggestion: Get out and discover your own backyard.
Yes, it’s a suggestion we’ve made before – but we’re not afraid to make it again and again.
This beautiful Burnaby of ours has so much to offer that anyone who claims boredom just can’t be trying very hard.
Don’t believe us? Just flip through this paper and find some of the fine examples of things to do.
On the front you’ll see the Burnaby Farmers’ Market (that’s Saturdays at the city hall parking lot, if you haven’t been yet). On page 3, there’s a feature about the Burnaby Blues + Roots Festival, coming your way on Saturday, Aug. 8. Inside (pages 10, 11 and 12), you’ll find more details about the B.C. Day festivities at Burnaby Village Museum.
And those are just a few of the gems you can find in our city.
