Party focus uncertain

Dear Editor:

Re: Does the editor read minds?, Burnaby NOW, Nov. 11.

So it begins. The members of Parents' Voice have decided that they're to be above the same scrutiny that is applied to any other candidate or political party, and rather than address the issues brought up like civilized people worthy of our votes, the party has sent in its attack dog to question the credentials of Ms. Tracy.

I fail to see why, all of the issues addressed in the original article are facts, unless Parents' Voice has decided that it does not, in fact, oppose the anti-homophobia policy.

Of course, no one would know for certain, since their campaign literature doesn't mention it anywhere, and what campaign literature they did have has now been taken off their website. For shame.

We now have a political party running around, asking for votes without giving anyone a single clue what they'd do, what are we as society supposed to do except make an estimation of goals if there's none provided for our perusal?

The respondent speaks of her vast experience, of the qualities she has and the work that she's done that make her appropriate to be a school board trustee.

Perhaps, if she's serious about being anything more than the person who literally stands to take away protections for children, she might consider running on her past.

One way or the other though, the shadow campaign of talking about anything but her desire to allow discrimination back into Burnaby schools is going to end.

Parents' Voice, stop hiding. Stop lying. Stop avoiding the issues, if you're so sure of your principles and believe that Burnaby citizens agree with your assertion that discrimination is healthy and something we need to allow, then stand on it.
