Dear Editor:

Forty million dollars a year is what it costs the B.C. government to collect Medical Services Plan premiums from us all. This expense is unnecessary. MSP should not be a separate tax, but be included in the income tax system as it is in other provinces.

During the last 12 years of B.C. Liberal governments, this wasted money amounts to half a billion dollars.

This is about the same as the money wasted by the previous NDP government on fast ferries. The difference is that this waste by the Liberals has been deliberate.

Let us hope that the next B.C. government gets rid of this waste.
