Dear Editor:
Last year I paid the amount of $4,879.35 as property tax, and this year I have to pay $5,459.97 - a difference of $580.64 in a year's time. Is that fair?
The mayor of Burnaby should look at this matter not through his financial glasses but take other people's financial situations, who are financially less fortunate, into consideration.
The increase of $580.64 in a year is a heavy financial burden for me. But I am powerless to do anything but protest and await the next city council election when perhaps a more reasonable and considerate group of people may succeed to replace the present one.
I wonder how intelligent people, when in power, can be so insentitive to other people's situations.
